Why we built PDFZero
Almost every "free" online PDF tool works the same way: you upload your contract, your medical record, or your bank statement to a stranger's server, they process it in the cloud, and you hope they delete it afterwards. We thought that was backwards.
Modern browsers are powerful. With WebAssembly and Web Workers, the same heavy PDF processing that used to require a server can now run on your own device — instantly, privately, and for free. PDFZero is built entirely on that idea: your files never leave your machine.
What makes us different

Files are processed locally in your browser. Not a single byte is uploaded to any server.
WASM-powered
pdf-lib, Tesseract and more compiled to WebAssembly for near-native speed.
No size limits
Your RAM is the only limit. No 100 MB caps, no daily quotas, no paywalls.

How we stay free
Because everything runs on your device, our running costs are tiny — there are no servers crunching your files. PDFZero is free forever. If our tools save you time, optional donations help us keep building more. We never sell data, because we never collect it in the first place.
