Privacy Policy

The short version: we can't leak what we never receive. Your files are processed entirely on your device.

Last updated: 13 June 2026

Privacy in one sentence: PDFZero runs 100% in your browser. Your PDF files and their contents are never uploaded to our servers — there is no server that receives them.

1. Who we are

PDFZero ("we", "us", "our") provides free, in-browser PDF tools at pdfzero.com. This policy explains what data is and isn't handled when you use the site.

2. Your files never leave your device

Every tool — compress, merge, split, OCR, sign, redact and the rest — runs locally using WebAssembly and Web Workers inside your browser. We do not upload, store, copy, read, or transmit your documents. When you close the tab, the file is gone from memory.

3. Information we do not collect

4. Limited technical data

Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical information (such as anonymised IP address, browser type, and pages visited) for security and to keep the service running. We may also use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which tools are popular. This data is never tied to your file contents.

5. Third-party services

6. Cookies & local storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember preferences such as your theme (dark/light) and chosen language. These stay on your device and are not used for tracking or advertising.

7. Children's privacy

PDFZero is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
